Muslims against terrorism and extremism: Free
Muslims Coalition. After the horrors of 9/11, the
Muslim community needed an organization determined
to speak out against the evils of terrorism. FMC's
primary goals are eliminating broad based support
for Islamic extremism and terrorism; strengthening
secular democratic and educational institutions in
the Middle East; increasing the rights of Muslim
women worldwide; promoting economic development in
Muslim countries; and to offer non-Muslims a more
enlightened and rational interpretation of Islamic
principles and beliefs.
