The Chapter headings within this website are
important to the subject of modern Islam and its
influence in and on the West. Indeed, they are
all-encompassing and very grand! But what do they
mean, how are they understood, integration, etc?
How relevant are they as 'vital discussion
points' compared with the 'reality' of a situation
in flux? Are they truly 'all-encompassing' to the
man or (woman!) in the street? who has to 'get on'
with life and living, despite prejudice or bombs?
Just what are the reflection or outbursts from
people, about such Chapter headings and the
'reality' today, regarding the situation
internationally or nationally, living in towns and
cities and local communities in West, Middle East,
East?
Maybe our 'contributors' - the vox populi - and
their edited viewpoints can broaden our appreciation
better than a specific but lengthy book or
heavyweight article?
This site is reportage and items have been culled
from books, magazines, newspaper articles,
columnists' pages, broadcasts, even emails to the
author.
It is emphasised that many items
reported on this website are all too often
inter-changeable: something reported under the
‘Integration’ screen might well be seen by readers
as more suitable, in their view, under the heading
‘Coexistence’; as in the same way an item under
Coexistence might have appeared among those under
Segregation. Finding clear-cut examples for each
heading has been testing (except for the obviously
darker aspects on Segregation, Separatism and
Terrorism).
