Islam, the West, Integration, Segregation, Coexistence, Interfaith

The intent, in this Part 3, is the same as before - to explore the concerns about Islam,
ancient and modern, and in particular the presence of its growing millions in the West.

How much is Islam in the West now a threat? Or is it an opportunity for the West, as this 21st century moves onwards? Or is the confrontation only to be seen in terms of highlighting the obduracy of Islam’s rich but apparently rigid values and religious culture today? Is change taking place, are the problems being resolved? Or is the situation, in reality, static? As in websites Part 1 and Part 2, this Part 3 aims to reflect the clamour of voices of a variety of people, from scholars, specialists, even politicians, to the ‘men and women in the streets’ – their theories, opinions, beliefs, hopes and fears, all recounted briefly. This author’s own views are also brief and hopefully openly indicated.

This is a website of ‘Reportage’ – about Integration and assimilation; about Segregation, separatism and terrorism;
about Coexistence and changes in attitudes; and about Interfaith and goodwill.

The Chapter headings in this Part 3, in a way, go beyond yet perhaps sum up those headings specifically addressed in Part 1 and Part 2.
